Those of you who have known me for a while, know about Mr Spock. In short - he is my little car. He is freedom, independence, sanity and worth every penny I've spent/will spend on him.

What I haven't explained, is the reason *why* my beloved little car is so named...

The Ballard of a Panda called Spock )

I refuse to justify my craziness but given how much money I have spent/will spend on my car - it's perfectly reasonable to 'name' it because ships and children are named - and they cost a hella lot more than he ever will;)

It was the BBC Doctor Who Prom. The orchestra were playing 'Vale Deceum' (Farewell Ten) and some evil b@rstard helpful soul decided that the *perfect* images to accompany this (beautiful) music would be the regenerations of the 9th and 10th Doctor.

Have I mentioned that I am really crap at dealing with regenerations? Yes? How many times?! Really?

It might be five years since Nine but watching *that* scene, still cuts to the bone. As for Ten... it was the first time I've seen the regeneration since New Year and...

It was not pretty. Thankfully [livejournal.com profile] torn_eledhwen is utterly *awesome*, offered a hankie and put up with my foolishness!

So, there you go!

There are actually *two* contenders for this but I'm 'disqualifiying' Pixar because I was expecting Toy Story 3 to be hewn from awesome and everything they do is an instant classic.

So I am going to plump for:

Photobucket

I mean, I was expecting 'good', after all, this is Christopher Nolan, one of the best directors currently working today but this? Astonished even me. The hype was, for once, justified.

An intelligent, original story told in a beautiful, entertaining, engaging way. If you haven't seen it yet, go, enjoy and tell me that I'm not the only one who was 'incepted' with the idea of pinging Robert Fischer's braces among other things!. Too Much Doctor Who!

Okay - it's not a new film but those lovely folks at the BFI programmed an extended season for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes as part of their Birds Eye View Film Festival, celebrating the work of female film makers.

It's one of my aaaaallll time favourite films and not just because of this:

I did read a review that stated the above was "probably the gayest scene ever committed to celluloid".

I would respectfully disagree and recommend that said male critic should be aware that yes, women DO like looking at hot men with very few clothes on as much as gay men do. Especially when it's featuring women being awesome as this one does!

I'd ban... nothing. Both as a librarian and as a human being. If teenagers want to read it, then let them. And yes, I *do* include the Twilight books. Because reading crap like that is better than reading nothing at all.

Hell, when I was a teenager, I was reading things like Homer's Illiad (which my mum had to sign out of the library for me!) and Jackie Collins' Hollywood Wives. So, no room to talk at all;)

Since this is a *public* post, I can't name names... or post links.

On the whole - oh HELL no! Out of sight, way out of mind.

Unfortunately, there are times when *one* (let's call him... 'Hamsterman'!) barrells into my life because of something he's said... In a forum that's picked up by others and is treated as gospel fact when it's nothing of the sort!

Shameful Details available on request! Ask me when you see me.

Regardless of whatever happens either tonight or tomorrow night... NOT THAT I'M SAYING ANYTHING WILL BUT... Jack and Ianto!

And now I must go distract myself with Old Skool Trek and utter randomness for the next hour and fourty-three minutes!

Am thinking of Public Enemies and Ice Age 3 before the end of the week too. Eclectic monster is eclectic!

Like I'd pass up answering a question like that...  sheesh!
