The good news - for a McG film, it's good.
The bad news - for a Terminator film, it sucked like a *dyson*.
Put it this way - if at the end of the film, I'm *still* sitting there thinking 'I should have gone to see Star Trek again (regardless of the fact that Anton Yelchin is Checkov in ST09 and also Kyle Reece - who's *barely* old enough to shave! Let alone be the father of the defender of humanity1) then Huston? We has a problem!
Obviously, mileage may vary but for me - not one for the top films of the year list.
* * *
Am currently watching Wall.e again. It goes without saying that there are not words to describe just how wonderful this film is.
It's also appropriate to watch this today as the Edinburgh Film Festival starts today (where I saw Wall.e for the first time last year). It's always an excellent fest to attend - usually with lots of excellent films at reasonable prices. Not to mention a couple that go onto be very successful in the months to come. I'm not going this year (combo of no money and no films that I wanted to traverse the UK to go see) but there is always next year...
So - enough about me - how are yous guys?
