Things Made Of Glee
The Writer's strike is finally over. Yes, I know it ended Wednesday and today is Sunday but... Thank the 'verse for that one!
Regular readers of
ncis_newsletter (why, yes, that was a shameless plug!) should already know that NCIS is scheduled to add seven episodes to their fifth season. Not only that but CBS has greenlit a SIXTH season.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trailer. That subsonic sound that can be heard about 55 seconds in? Me bringing the squee. Oh Indy!
Torchwood continues to add to the squee. Just like NCIS it's all one honkin' great damn orgy! And it has added Martha and Director Morrow this week too (yes, I am watching at terrestrial speed - do not mock me)
Finding out that iTunes does have that obscure track from 1985 that always reminds me of being dropped off at school after my first eye test. Being told that you need to wear glasses (for the rest of your life!) tends to make you remember stuff like that.
The cinema trailer for Doctor Who series 4. Better than the damn film I went to see! Jamie Bell pwns Samuel L Jackson.
Things that are NOT made of glee
British Telecom not believing me when I tell them that my phone line is doing a good impression of a Norwegian Blue Parrot. Their tech says my phone is fine - no dial tone and no net access says otherwise!
Feeling self concious about wanting to discuss my views on the female characters in the last film I saw at the cinema (see below). That is not good.
The film Jumper. With that cast and that director I was expecting a lot more than an empty fx-fest.
Put it this way - the female characters in said film were reduced to the level of Macguffins. More attention was paid to the locations than to the writing of the female characters. This is not acceptable.
JJ Abram's 'Star Trek' reboot has been moved to Summer '09. It might be unmitigated rubbish but I'm intrigued enough to go see.

And now off to do something entirely different!
