This, that and some of the other...

Finished work on Thursday. There will be some work stuff going on over the break. I want to get that bloody charter finished asap, so time spent on, at very least, organising what paperwork I have, will be well spent.
Plans for the holidays also include watching a whole slew of films. Both on DVD and cinema screen. As I'm geeky enough to keep all my cinema tickets, I've done a count up and come to the conclusion that I've seen 48 films this year. So far. I'm going to see if I can make it to 52. Just for the sheer craick, you understand.
Next year? 52 seperate films in a year, at the cinema.
The rest of the holidays will hopefully be spent well. Doing stuff like going swimming, writing short fic and reading. I have quite a 'to read' pile and it would be nice to shrink it a little bit.
So... there I was on Monday, at work, trying to tidy my desk. I may organize information for a living, but my desk? 'Atomic' and 'Bombsite' are usually good adjectives to describe my work area. Mme Director had decreed that this was To Be So. Cue an awful lot of peeved staff. Including me.
This is to give you an idea of my state of mind when I read the following...
My story 'Broken Stones' as recced on

You have no frelling idea how happymaking this was.
At first it was like 'Broken Stones? I have a story called that....' reads some more 'HOLEEE FRAK MONKEYS!!!! I'VE BEEN RECC'ED!!!!'
We've all got our ambitions. Some are big, some are small. Some we must rely on ourselves to accomplish, others are in the laps of others.
One of my 'smaller' ambitions was that one of my stories would be rec'ced on a rec comm, like

I'm not a BNF nor will I ever be, in any of my fandoms. I don't seem to write any thing that might be considered 'trendy' in any of my fandoms (which might not be the right way of saying it - but it's the only way I can express it right now). To (slightly mis)quote Men in Black "I'm there to make others look good"
It was always going to be one of those 'oh gosh, that would be wonderful!' things. And now it's happened and, to tell the truth, I've been (mentally) squeeing about it all week!
So, I say again

Is now a good time to say that there might be a DVD commentary? Please note the emphasis; if anything to get my mind away from the tinsel story!
ZOMG!!!! Mark and Karen won Strictly Come Dancing! After last week's Argentine Tango, this is not a surprise - but I do have to say that Matt Dawson was just as fantastic. Trying to decide a winner, for myself, was almost as hard as trying to decide who's my favourite Doctor out of #9 and #10!
Both wonderful and both amazing to watch. Not to mention about £4 million odd raised for charity in the process!
Right - the pit is calling. I will check in tomorrow (hopefully) just to wish everyone seasons greetings and all... you understand;)
