This story contains a *boatload* of firsts for me. 1st Big Bang fic. 1st story to break 13k - let alone 20k. 1st Torchwood story (and given my current antipathy towards S4 - unfortunately my *last* too). You get the picture?

I'd like to thank the mods of tw_bigbang for giving me this oppurtunity to prove to myself that yes, I becky_monster can push myself to write 15,000 words on one story. The shock may wear off before 2015 but then again...;)

I'd also like to thank (again!) torn_eledhwen for selflessly volunteering to beta this behemoth. To wethepainted for getting into my head and drawing the pictures and the people I saw there.

I'd also like to thank Christopher Nolan for getting me past (and utterly derailing me at) the 15,000 words point.
Also, I'd like to thank the very nice soul who put on the In The Shadow Of The Sun talk and showing of the film Sunshine at the British Film Institute. Great minds think alike!
