'Don't minute that!'

I'm *reasonably* sure that everyone who will read this will understand my pov but - for the record:
ON NO ACCOUNT does
becky_monster of Livejournal go *anywhere* near Rebecca (name redacted) of Facebook.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Becky_Monster is for squee, Doctor Who, science fiction, movies, tv, writing, 'inappropriate' crushes on guys you've never heard of, flailing and other assorted monster-related insanity.
Rebecca *name redacted) on Facebook is... well, it's a construct created for work purposes more than anything else. Hell, I *presented* a paper on why my work should use Facebook as a way of communicating with our users this afternoon.
Killer timing? I *has* it - for possibly the first and only time in my *life*!
I'm moving forward with that paper (once colleages at another site see it) but... I 'present' a very *different* face there to what I present here. Insofar as I can see - movie reviews as status updates is the way to go;).
This is not just to protect my privacy but also to to be 'professional'. Most of you know what I do - I make no effort to hide what I do. Hell, I know of at least three other people on my flist who followed the same calling as me - with others who'd like to do it too.
Even so, insofar as the outside world is concerned, fandom is in a grey area where copyright is concerned. As part of what I am/do, I am expected to uphold copyright holders rights. Y'all are intelligent - you can do the math;)
My way of getting around this - they don't ask; I don't tell. Hence the separation ofChurch and State the two identities.
All I ask is that if you're reading this - respect me and yourself and keep anything you say or I say on this journal galaxies away from Twitter or Facebook! If you don't, then defriend yourself right now - save me the damn trouble!
