I was remarkably pleased at how well the book made the transition to film, especially considering some of the earlier attempts at scripting (Um, what do you MEAN, time paradox?!). They cram-jammed everything into the film that they possibly could--and maybe that's to the detriment of the film for some people; I personally didn't mind it being three hours long.
Agree with you on the way too much slow-mo. Yeesh.
While I didn't mind the 'Hallelujah' scene... I minded the song. Yeah, okay, Leonard Cohen wrote it, props for that, but the man really grates on my ear drums. When it's out on DVD, I'm going to replace that track with Rufus Wainwright's cover version, which gives me warm emo-fuzzies.
And I am so jealous of you getting to see the Star Trek trailer. All I got to see was the one for the new Terminator movie. Meh!
