Um... HAI! As ever, in the immortal words of Granny Weatherwax - 'I anet ded'.
Just trying to get my proverbial into gear and neglecting large swathes of things that are Fun And Interesting in the process....

First off, can I just say a very heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Ya'll are wonderful - SQUIRREL! and I am a very lucky monster indeed.

Secondly - Spring! It is springing at long bloody last!. This makes me irrevocably happy. Not least because of the return of you know Who but because of lighter, warmer days and sunshine. Given the winter just gone it's a real pleasure to see the Daffs and the Snowdrops making their debuts.

Thirdly - I am writing! Or at least I was over the weekend - nearly 1700 words! Which is *mindboggling*. I doubt I'll ever post it but - Words! As Pixels!

Fourthly - work is trundling along. We've just moved office and it's made life a lot more 'comfortable'. It has a roof for a start! Never underestimate the need for a 'safe space' away from clients. Also, I am making baby steps to re-sitting the Spawn Of Hell Professional Exams. I'll try to keep the whinging to a dull roar.

Fifthly - Sibling Unit #2 has (hopefully) set a date for her wedding. October Half Term Week. May the 'verse have mercy on all our souls!

Anyway - enough about me... how are yous guys?

Sir Ian McKellen to play a Bond Villan! - Admittedly, it's on the radio (damn! because him opposite Daniel Craig? Hewn From AWESOME!) for the dramatisation of Ian Fleming's Goldfinger (the book, not the film).

I'm sure it will be excellent - I just hope that they have expunged some of the details that made me so bloody furious that I was sorely tempted to throw said book into Cardiff Bay! If you've read any Fleming, you'll understand.

As I may have mentioned in the past - John Barrowman is doing a guest stint on Desperate Housewives. His first episode was last night, so for those of you who can't/won't see it for whatever reason (wrong landmass, want to keep your brain cells, etc!) have 2.12 minutes of John Barrowman being hot and... SPOILERY!

***

Because it's medically proven that I can't go a post without mentioning Doctor Who...

Have the UK Press Screening Trailer - SPOILERS - which as [livejournal.com profile] vashyti knows, had my inner eight year old praising it's awesomeness over the weekend!

Also - thanks to Mr C The BBC America trailer - AGAIN WITH THE SPOILERS! with different images and laughable voice over at the end.

Is it Easter Saturday yet?!

Sho West (the big movie theatre trade show in the US) happened last week. Pixar stumped up to show movie theatre managers something wonderful. No, not a way of blocking cell/mobile phone signals or people talking in screenings (yes please!) but a rough cut of 'Toy Story 3'.

I love everything that Pixar do and I'm thinking that this might be the perfect finale to the series. Also? this is my heads up to buy some waterproof mascara.

Yes, I owe movie reviews but if you are in need of a pick me up - go watch this video in a previous post. NSFW but everytime I've seen this film in a cinema, I hear at least one cry of 'appreciation' from the audience (and it's not me!). They really do not make 'em like this anymore. Such a shame.

One final thing...

TV series recommendation for all and sundry... Wonders of the Solar System on BBC 2, Sunday Nights at 9pm.

Presented by Prof. Brian Cox (Royal Society Fellow, highly regarded physicist and one-time pop star. Not to be confused with t'other Brian Cox) this is a look at our planet and our solar system through the prism (sic) of physics.

It's informative, entertaining (BC's boyish enthusiasm shines through) beautiful to look at (lovely CGI and I commend the good prof to [livejournal.com profile] nialla42 and others who like the tall & geeky look) and a damn fine watch.

Highly recommended! And now, I shall go do some work!
