Thing One
I had my appraisal at work today and... That Thing That I Spoke About At Easter Is Getting Better. Boss and I spoke about it and Higher Up Boss has noted Improvement. Which is *good*
Not to mention - I survived my appraisal! Yay!

If you do not know of the thing I speak then that's all you need to know. If you do, then you know too.

Thing Two
Maryann Johanson of Flick Filosopher (a highly recommended movies/pop culture blog) has written an excellent piece on Defining The Female Gaze it covers what it is, what it's not and why it's important.

BTW - if you do not feel that the female gaze is important - then GTHOMB (Get The Hell Off My Blog!). Ahem... there are also some very useful images to practice on. I'm just saying!

Related to this - I've been doing some 'studying' of Torchwood ('Ghost Machine' and 'Fragments') for A Project - and have come to the following conclusion: John Barrowman is an incredibly handsome man with possibly the most pinchable backside I've seen in a loooong time.

Female Gaze? I has one!

Thing Three
I have a crush on Eleven (this is not news, I know) and have come to the conclusion that yes, I have a thing for tall, lanky, types with cheekbones, accents or are Timelords/immortal Time Agent/companion (this? again is not news).

What is news is that I am harbouring much WTF over the fact that the guy who started (or at least was namechecked in the article at fault) up the TooWho over Matt Smith's nudity (as in he was - completely) is an ex of mine. Yes, I have spoken of him before. He's still a prat but all I want to know is...
Why was he looking to see if Matt Smith was truly nekkid?

Inquiring minds and all that... The mindbleach is on standby.

Thing Four
DOCTOR WHO MEME: DAY FIFTEEN - FAVOURITE WHO-RELATED TUMBLR

Now, before said meme, Tumblr was a closed book to me. Still is to a certain extent (I only have so many hours in the day and a really sh*tty internet connection at home - you do the proverbials) so I am going to twist this into Favourite Blogger Not On LJ Who Talks About Who (because that accolade goes to most of my flist!)

And that is: Flick Filosopher, who I have linked to in the past. Each week she blogs about the episode aired in the UK (so 'ware spoilers) as well as various episodes from the Old School.

I find her a very thoughtful and intelligent writer, who brings the critiques as well as the squee. And would recommend her to all and sundry.

Thing Five
Dumbass question - if someone on your flist asked for help on a story and it was obvious that they were writing in such a way that they would end up on Fandom_Wank or causing a Fail!storm without intervention... would you say something?

Juuust askin!
