I really like Sherlock both this version and the Ritchie versions but other than reading the occasional fic that had been recced, I've not been overly fannish. Something didn't click utterly.
Until this morning.
I have a solid rule of thumb when it comes to films and TV. Provoke an emotional response out of me and you have me hooked.
I think from the moment that both the audience and Sherlock realise quite what Moriarty is planning to do, something inside just 'broke' and I was moved to tears.
And I think I cried for a good ten minutes - it wasn't on the same scale as Torchwood: Children of Earth Day 4 but there were tears as Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman acted their bloody socks off.
I don't know what cut deeper - the phone conversation or the speech over the gravestone but that was wonderful telly, that was certain.
Also - I found this - which sums it all up beautifully Compare and Contrast - Sherlock and Star Trek II.
Right now - I am trying to be utterly zen about the whole wait for a new series. And noting that hankies would be a good idea to shove in the handbag for The Hobbit as well. Forewarned etc!
