My internet connection is currently down at home. It's not Illya (who I am currently typing this missive up on) but my phone line. It is doing a reasonable impression of a Norwegian Blue at present.

This is both a good thing and a bad thing.

Bad thing because I don't know *why* or when it will arise from the grave. Not only that but I have 'commitments' to attend to on Monday (newsletters, photoblogs - the usual)

Good thing because it means that I will get around to watching the episodes of TV I have been hoarding for the end of the WGA strike. Not to mention watch the canon I need for my femme_fic. It's either NCIS Season 3 onwards or X-Men movieverse. Hmmmm.... Chocolate cake or Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream... hmmmm!;)

Also - this saves y'all from a rant from me about how a simple request for all pairing information to be listed in a story is NOT a sign of misogyny and that the requester and those like her should be hit in the vagina for raising such a request.
So be thankful for that...

periwinkle27 - If I'm still having problems on Monday, I will e-mail you as early as I can with a back up plan. The other computer in the house is also having connection issues too!

wiccagirl24 - in your list of Fandoms - I hope NCIS wasn't on the 'not any more' list! As that would be a grave loss.

ishtaritu - I accept your challenge. The thing is I have no timeline as to when I'll get to write the damn bugger! Rest assured, I have a title and I have a plot. These are always helpful!

Rant away - I happen to agree with you. I think it's bad form not to include all pairings.

Heck, I'll put them in my stories even if they are only mentioned in passing/implied. To me it's essential in any fandom and especially in fandoms where they are multiple pairings.

I was being an idiot - the original row was about 'warnings' getiing muddled up with 'pairing' information. Someone did not like a specific pairing and said so.
That and there is a biiiiiggg kerfuffle about misoginy (sp!) regarding female characters. Which I still would like to talk about but... one kerfuffle a year is more than enough for me - kathanx!

As for the connection - the other home one is okay, for now, but my one is not. BT and I will have to have *words*!

Ah, yes, 'warnings'. That's one big basket of trouble! At the end of the day there is nothing that is going to please everyone.

Me, I warn for death, and I know that irks some people (not in NCIS, but in Pros for example) and other what I consider 'major' things - but then my idea of 'major' is someone another person's idea of 'minor'. So 'you can't please all of the people all of the time'. (Mind you I often think 'you can't please any of the people any of the time' is more apt).

I do think that listing pairings (all of them) is essential in fandoms like NCIS. People don't like certain pairings (me for one *g*) and I want to know what I'm getting. Whilst I don't go for any kind of negative feedback, if I were reading a story that had a pairing (or two pairings) and suddenly out of the blue up popped a pairing I didn't like, I'e be put out too - and I might even consider making a comment about it being nice if they'd included it. Note 'consider' not necessarily 'do', as I *hate* conflict, but . . . I can be pushed!

I haven't seen that particular kerfuffle. Are we talking NCIS? because thus far I hadn't seen any real major issue (which is amazing given the number of pairings - thinks about pairing wars in other fandoms).

Nope, Stargate: SG-1. Even though I haven't been active in that fandom for about two years, I do work on their newsletter... which is how I found out about the kerfuffle.

BT agreed there is a problem! O_O. Whether they'll fix it is another battle;)
