It's called "Black" Friday because with all the spending that goes on that day, most stores get into the black instead of being in the red.

A lot of people outside of retail take the Friday after Thanksgiving off, so they have time to shop for Christmas. I'll be at work myself (I'm not in retail, though).

Why they can't wait for Saturday? Cause they want to make money every day! This is America, land of the almighty dollar!

I have no trouble being at work on Friday. It'll be nice and quiet.
