Three (and a half) things
Feb. 22nd, 2009 08:03 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
First off, the half thing. I AEN'T DED!
*cough*
First thing - do I have such a thing as a damn good Gen beta on the flist? All that is required is a passing knowledge of NCIS (namely the characters and their main interactions). That and it's about 550 words long. Leave a messageafter the beep in the usual place.
Second thing - In which episode does Tony call Jimmy a 'gremlin'? I've got it narrowed down to Season 2 but other than that... halp?
Why, yes, I *have* watched NCIS 6x16... does it show?!
Third thing - just had an e-mail from The BFI in London. In April, they have a 'thread' dedicated to Cubby Brocolli - founder of EON productions and of course, responsible for the Bond franchise of movies. This thread is carrying on into May and... they'll be showing all 22 movies.
This? Could be interesting (and expensive!). Good job I don't have a life then isn't it?!
Okay - there is a lemon yogurt calling my name and I feel that a certain movie geek wants to chat... I promise not to vanish so long the next time;)

Date: 2009-02-22 09:34 pm (UTC)Re: 'gremlin' - it's not 'Boxed In'. Tony happens upon Jimmy giving Abby a massage and shoos him off calling him a gremlin in the process - but I *still* can't place the episode!
*headdesk*

Date: 2009-03-23 08:14 pm (UTC)My fannishness seems to be on the upswing (for a change!) and am looking to strike while the iron is hot...
If so, where and how? (I has a Mac and just want to make sure that I have the right format to send!)

Date: 2009-03-23 08:26 pm (UTC)If you're using Word, you should be able to save it as Word for PC. Or, RTF would be fine. Or even just plain text. Just review it after you save it as the new file type to make sure it doesn't do anything weird. :-) Just email me at the address in my profile. Be warned, I'm a tough beta, but it's all about the story and the story is whatever one *you're* telling, not the one *I* might want to see.

Date: 2009-03-24 04:49 pm (UTC)I've sent it along - it's not long at all. About 600 words all told. There is no rush to get it back or anything.
The epics are... circling but I don't have anything too big in the pipeline and if I did... I'd ask first;)

You say that like it's a bad thing? No, seriously, I understand and am grateful that you've mentioned it up front. It's quite disconcerting to have stuff come back and it's nigh on shredded when you didn't expect that to be so.
So... have at it!

Ummm...
Date: 2009-03-23 08:12 pm (UTC)Is the offer still open?
*looks hopeful*
I seem to be on the fannish upswing and intend to make the most it!

Date: 2009-02-23 09:09 am (UTC)I'll do some checking of the transcripts later and see if I can tie it down to eps.

Date: 2009-02-23 11:39 am (UTC)It's one specific instance I'm looking for - Jimmy in Forensics with Abby, giving her a massage when Tony hustles him out, calling him a gremlin.
I can see the scene in my head - I just can't attach it to the rest of the episode.

Date: 2009-02-23 12:05 pm (UTC)Okay . . . Now that I don't recall.
I recall the Jimmy massaging Abby. It's when she says 'your hands on me (or on my body) now' IMS. I just don't recall the Tony calling Jimmy gremlin. I shall dig further.
But yes, I too can see the 'massage' bit.
Edit Okay, found it. But Tony does indeed call Jimmy 'Gremlin' - well remembered!
It's from 'Hometown Hero' and it goes:
ABBY: What’s up, Palmer?
JIMMY: I brought you a substance for analysis.
ABBY: Where’d you get it?
JIMMY: The victim’s femur bone.
ABBY: Just put it over there.
JIMMY: Hey, sorry to hear about your weekend.
ABBY: Oh, hm… Tony?
JIMMY: Yeah, mass email. The sender was anonymous, but it was pretty obvious.
ABBY: Lots of lascivious references.
JIMMY: You know, the inefficient flow of ki is a major source of stiffness. Silent auction item at my niece’s school benefit. A weekend seminar in the Art of Shiatsu.
ABBY: Do me.
JIMMY: Uh… I showed up late.
ABBY: Your hands. My body. Now! Ah! Ah!
TONY: What the hell are you doing, Palmer?
JIMMY: Ah… ah… ah…
TONY: You read the Agency police on sexual harassment, didn’t you, Palmer?
JIMMY: It wasn’t like that!
(MUSIC CLICKS OFF)
TONY: It never is. Now go, you little autopsy gremlin! Get out of here. What have you got, Abs?
