2006 in review - Beckymonster stylee;)

I'll try and keep this short and sweet, just like a certain NCIS ME *koff*;)
'06 started off badly - I was in the throes of 'flu and then there was the eye problems. I'm glad to say that I'm finishing the year in a physically better (apart from the Holiday feed up - back to Weight Watchers as of Tuesday *pout*) state than I started in.
Work is getting better. Still have my pro exams to do, but I have intel to make it happen. Will work on it tomorrow. Promise. Finding this whole Web 2.0 stuff to be rather interesting. That and I've made my peace certain issues. Which is nice.
Fandom was 'interesting' this year. Started off drifting out of one and ended pretty much in another. Stressing over the posting of the largest fic I've ever written!:D
Stargate: SG-1 will always have a place in my heart, but what with changes in the show dynamics and (personal) fandom issues, it wasn't floating the USS Beckymonster anymore. Favourite fic I wrote is still 'Broken Stones' - and that was before it was recc'ed;)
Doctor Who was wonderful. Still getting used to David Tennant as the new Doctor but I must say that 'School Reunion' is one of the greatest episodes I've seen all year. I was getting rather emotional by the end of that one;) Torchwood needs more Captain Jack but it is a worthy watch... when I can catch it;)
Battlestar Galactica continued on it's path of utter greatness, albiet with the occasional blip (Black Market anyone?) but still one of the greatest SF shows on telly anywhere. Just nine days 'til the new series is shown on UK tv!
X-Files was re-discovered this year via the wonders of cheap DVD boxsets, aka Cheap Time Travel. Oy vey;) Still think that AD Skinner is the last word in hawt FBI agents;) Sorry Fornell!;)
On the subject of Federal Agents - NCIS the new guy in town. When I started the year, this only showed up on the radar as various people (take a bow
nialla42,
justalurkr and
amanda_is_wacky) were singing it's praises. Then Five started to show it - right after Doctor Who. I went 'Oooo, It's David McCallum' and thought no more of it.... Until I saw 'Dead Man Talking'. The show had me at Gibbs and DiNozzo being asked if they were a couple. Unfortunately they lied through their teeths!
Thankfully, I know the truth!
I also discovered the wonders of photography. Aka pointing the camera at random landmarks and taking photos. Perhaps I might join a photography club next year. Could be fun.
Also went to Brighton for the first time and made a return visit to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where I lived for three years. It was something I had to do... that and I scared the heck out of the ex too. Heeee;)
So yes, '06 has been a good one. Am hoping that '07 is as good as if not better!
In conclusion, I'd just like to say to my flist, both old and new...

May it be a good 'un!
