I know I've bored
vayshti silly noting the films I am considering, so for the sake of prosperity/insanity (and in the vain effort to get somebody else interested) I present the cut down version;)
There are other films that are showing, such as Anonymous that I am interested (the guy who created the Stargate and blew up the Whitehouse tackles Shakespeare - what could *possibly* go wrong?!) but as they open very close to the fest, I will bide my time.
So - The Artist - this was the breakout film from Cannes; the one that everyone raved about. I want to see what a) all the fuss is about and b) if it's better than Tree of Life was.
Coriolanus - saw clips of this at Empire Big Screen and was piqued. It opens in January, so I don't know.
The 'Surprise Film' - quite what it is - I don't know! It's a surprise!;)
Shame - the reviews coming from the Venice Film Festival over the weekend were very complimentary about this. Stars Magneto (the gorgeous, Irish version as opposed to the gorgeous gay one!) and Sally Sparrow (Carey Mulligan for the non-Whovians out there) and is about sex addiction. The roll call of what Michael Fassbender's character gets up to means that I am going to be bloody glad a) cinemas are dark and b) prove beyone all manner of doubt that I am human and not a replicant (Bladerunner reference ftw!)
A Dangerous Method - stars Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender and Keira Knightley. As Sigmund Freud (Mortensen), Carl Jung (Fassbender) and the case that came between them (Knightley) Or as one wag at Empire put it - it's Psychiatry: First Class.
It's directed by David Cronenberg and if the trailer is anything to go by (and I've spoken about my reaction to this before) it looks like it could be interesting. Though scheduling may scupper me on this one (I can't do Mondays and Tuesdays while doable is during a busy time of year....)
So, if there is anyone who wants to come with *cough*
torn_eledhwen*cough* - please tell me quick as I want to get my orders in quick...
